Past Works Designs

Hi Strangers,

Just a quick update on some of the few designs I've worked on the customers. I hoped my existing and new customers will be more adventurous next time and allow me to create fanciful nailsart to their fingernails. =)

And, below are some nail designs that I have done on my own nails for the past couple of months.
All designs are used with angelprogelly polishes on my natural nails. It can lasts for 3weeks or even more. However, I usually removed them during the 2nd week because I loved to change new designs. As for the 3D emboss art, I used charisma powders from USA. Speaking on which, a lot of my friends and customers usually asked me the same question, " Do you painted both hand nails by yourself?" And I replied, " Yes, by myself." With proper training from reputable nail academy (PRINA), it helps to master my skills better and of course practice, practice and practice.

Creating arts on a small surface area requires a lot of focus and patience too. So if you are not a patience person but yet want to have some nails design, try opting for water decal stickers. They are so thin and flush smoothly with the polishes. Making it look so real as if its painted on. I usually used Japanese water decal stickers or Sha Nail.

I shall end this post here now. If you have any nails design that you like me to create, feel free to call or sms me to make an appointment.

Later, Strangers.

Cyn.

Soft Gel Soak Off Step by Step

Hello Strangers,

London weather is sunny this week. I am so happy to roam around without being wrapped up like a penguin. =D Let hope the weather will continue to be sunny everyday.

Today, I am going to explain how to soak off your soft gel polish step by step properly with care.
I ever have customers telling me, they are so afraid of doing soft gels again because once the manicurist removed the soft gels, their nails become very thin and weak.

Actually, this isn't true. The reason why their nails become thin or weak is largely due to the ignorance knowledge of the manicurist who did not remove the soft gels with proper care.

Below is a collage that I have done to explain more clearly.

Step 1: Your nails grew longer. It became ugly or annoying because you start seeing the lunula. (You can choose to cut your nail length to your preference at this stage.)
Step 2: Applied cotton that is soaked thoroughly with pure acetone onto the nail plate and then used foil aluminium to wrap them tightly around each nail. (***No gaps are allowed, otherwise the acetone will evaporates quickly.)
Step 3: After 10-15mins, removed the foil aluminium and you will see that the soft gels have melted into the cotton. (If there are some residues left on the nail plate, simply used cotton soaked with acetone and rubbed them away.)
Step 4: Use a 180grit nail file to trim the length. I personally loved to use angel pro nail file.
Step 5: Use the nail file in one direction. Always left to right. Never two directions as it can chip the nail easily.
Step 6: Use a cuticle pusher to dry push and removed the eponychium (known as cuticle). However, a lot of manicurists or yourself actually removed the fake cuticle by trimming it away with the nipper. This is wrong and dangerous. Because that layer is not cuticle. It is known as nail fold and it protects our nail matrix from bacteria infection. If it is not well taken care, it can affect the way our nails grow.
Step 7: Once you have dry push all fingers for one hand, use a lint free with acetone and wipe the nail plate. This is to remove any dust or oil residue left.
Step 8&9: Apply the dehydrator generously to each nail. This is to further enhance the bonding of gel polish for your next application. (**This step is optional.)

You will see that your nails are so well manicured after these steps.

See how pretty and clean it looked. Absolutely no filter or photoshop on pictures.

Here is a diagram to explain the different parts on a nail. (Image taken from internet source.)

I hoped this post has helped you ladies gained a better understanding about nail and steps to remove soft gels.

Next post, I will write how to apply gelly polish step by step.

Tweed Design.

Hello Beautiful Strangers,

I hoped you still remember me. It been quite a while since my last post and I apologised for the lack of updates. This is due to us relocating to London. Many stuffs to handle at one time.

Just a little update about my life in London.
I am not a winter person. Hence, I was really reluctant to move when I heard my Husband saying that we are moving. Many negative sprung up in my braincells, whether I can survive the weather, the food, the cultures etc. Nevertheless, I cleared the bad thoughts, plucked my courage and asked God to bless us in London. So we flew there in Chinese New Year Eve.

Fast forward to conclusion: I am still not a winter person. But whenever there is SUN shining brightly like a diamond, I totally loved it and enjoyed myself very much. Although I am fully aware that London is famous for it wet & gloomy weather, I sincerely prayed and hoped that I will enjoy London as much as I can.

Okay, back to my nail's dairy.

I am now in Singapore for 3weeks to attend my good friend wedding. As the weather is cold in London, my nails chipped off easily despite of how much petroleum I applied. Well of course, I mean the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly! Haha..

Therefore, I decided to give my nails a TLC treat.

Tweed Design, inspired from Nailmax with slight modification.
Using #angelprojelly polishes (20), (24) & (143) with (47) as base and (29) as dots on the half moon.

I loved how the colours complimented one another. Plus it matches my two outfits for the upcoming wedding too!

What do you guys think?

Ok Laters, Strangers.

Luv,
Cyn.

Flying colours!

Hello Beautiful Strangers,

I want to share a joyous news with you guys!
I went to my nail school to collect my results for the exams I took earlier on this year.

Theory & Practical Exams included:
1) Professional Manicurist Certificate- Distinction.
2) Professional Certificate in Gel Extension Techniques- Passed.
3) Professional Certificate in Acrylic Extension Techniques- Passed.

I Passed all 3! I am so ecstatic when I saw my result.

Anyone who is a professional manicurist in this industry, will know that PINK ROOM INTERNATIONAL NAIL ACADEMY aka PRINA is super stringent in teaching and EXAMS!

Now I just have to pass the final exam which is the Diploma in Professional Nail Technology. I heard it is tough. Oh well, bless that I can come back to this yearly affair and reunite with my nailist friends again!

Nevertheless, I want to thank my wonderful PRINA teachers, Rachel, Joe & Nicole for teaching and pushing ourselves to have this professional standard not like anyone else. Of course, practice makes perfect!

Ok Laters, Strangers.

London.

Hi Beautiful Strangers,

How are you doing? January is coming to an end soon. So whats happening around my life? I have two news to share with you guys. Of which one, you can pretty much guess from my blog title.

1) My nails course just came to an end on 22nd Jan 2013. I already missed my fellow school nailists. My favourite classmates are Fennie, Sharon and Katherine. They are loveable and enthusiastic as me in nails. Well, as Chinese proverbs saying, " There isn't any dinner that don't end." Hereby, I like to wish them all the best and successful in this trade and may our paths meet again.

2) I am going to relocate to London. Big move, huh! Yes, I know. Well, what to do? I am married woman now and I have to follow my husband wherever he goes. All I can do is to pray that we will come back to Singapore one day soon. Anyway, this shall not demotivated my passion in nails. I am going to check out if I can be a freelance/ home based nailist in London. Please pray for me too.

Ok, lets move on to more nail related news.

This month, I did this set of tribal nails for myself. Totally loved the colours. Even Master Joe (my school teacher also loved this colour).

#Angelprogelly (138) on 2nd, 3rd& 5th. (111) base colour & (143) for nail art on 1st & 4th.

Top Pic: #Angelprogelly (14) as base colour and (147) for roses art.
Bottom pic: #Angelprogelly (71) as base colour and #3D Emboss Art.

Thanks K for coming over my place to allow me to practice for my upcoming extension exams.

Ok. Laters, Strangers.

First week of 2013.

Hi Beautiful Strangers,

The first week of 2013 has ended. How did you spend your first week of the year?

As for me during the week, I went to PNC Singapore, located at 34 Upper Cross Street, #02-148. They sell all sort of stuffs related to beauty, from nails to makeup to spa products. I loved going there to buy stuffs because it cheaper compared to others. And the best part is they are expanding their shop. For those who have not been there lately, you will see a whole new, bigger shop by the end of 2nd week. Said the boss, herself.

Okay, let see what I have purchased.

More new embellishments. #Roses #Hearts #Chanel #Diamond #Stars #Studs

More #Stickers #Angelpro pot gel (It's really expensive. But, I still bought because I know the quality is good. I hoped I get a chance to use this gradient glitter series soon.)

More new shades of #Angelprogelly polish. From my school, #Pinkroom.

And lastly, I finally decided to get the polish rack too. Picture will be up soon.

Ok. Laters, Strangers.

Tuesday 1 January 2013

Every ending is a new beginning.

Hello Beautiful Strangers,

Today marked an end to 2012 but also a start to brand new 2013.
Let's recalled what I did in 2012.

1st Quarter of 2012.
I got married to my wonderful husband, who loves me dearest with all his heart. And so do I. We did our solemnization ceremony in Villa Halia at Singapore Botanic Gardens, with both side family and our closest friends. It was a small cosy wedding gardens affair with a "Mad Hatter and Alice in wonderland theme." Reasons why I chosen this theme was my hubby is 10years older than me. Naturally he suits the Mad Hatter role as Alice is younger. Plus we wanted something fun and unusual from the norms. Luckily for us, our friends are also sporty and enthusiastic in this theme too. So besides us, we have 2 Queens of Hearts, 3 White Rabbits, 5 tweedledee/dums and 3 Jokers. It was a perfect and fun wedding. I sincerely like to thanks everyone again who has helped us in any way from our wedding preparation to morning gate crashing and finally the wedding lunch

2nd Quarter of 2012.
We finally decided to buy a place of our own in Singapore after renting and helping others to pay for 30months. I can said it was the biggest move in our life, or rather mine. As my husband is already a few property owner himself. For me, it was not. It was my 1st private property. I guess we were both tired of renting around and thus we decided its either now or never. So anyway, we have to wait for another 1year plus before we can move into our love nest. Is there a fast forward button to press, please...
Toward end May, I revisited Dubai. A City I used to call home for 3 years. Yes, I used to fly as a cabin crew for Emirates Airline. I have met and known a bunch of really good friends during my times there. And most importantly, I met my husband there too. Hence going back Dubai was not foreign to me at all. In fact, I was so excited and eager to meet up all my friends and reminicise the memories we had before. However, my vacation days in Dubai was merely a short one. So I apologized here if I have not had a chance to meet some of you guys. Funny thing here was, during my 3years in Dubai, I never visited Abu Dhabi. Only this time round, my husband drove me up and explored Abu dhabi. I have to say its much cleaner and family orientated  than Dubai. Nevertheless, a part of me still misses Dubai. Okay, till we meet again. Laters, Dubai.

3rd Quarter of 2012.
It was our French Wedding in Brittany. A century old castle. I never would have imagined myself getting married so far and some more in a castle. Such a princess dream came true for me. As you can guess by now, my hubby is French and my in laws are from Brittany, west of France. My in laws are the nicest in laws I would ever ask for. They are so accommodating to me and thoughtful in every aspect from taking care of my family lodging to grocery and food when they came over to France. I really have to start learning French to be able to communicate with my in laws and the family. Okay I shall make a resolution in 2013 to speak French.
After the wedding, it was time to bid goodbye to everyone before we started our honeymoon trip to French Riviera. From Nice to Monaco to Grasse to Cannes before we drove across the Italy border. Yes, it was a road trip. One of my to do list. We have so much fun and bickering too. Because the husband never wants to listen to the wife advice on which route to take. But still, I have to thanks my husband for driving all the time while I was sleeping soundly throughout the long journey. Especially on high way. We visited Florence, Pisa and Tuscany. The view was breathtaking plus it's hot summer. Perfect to my liking.

Last Quarter of 2012.
I took a 4month full time course. Yes, it's a professional diploma certificate in nail technology. I always like to paint and draw my nails, so I thought why not turn this passion into a business too. I get to enjoy my passion and at the same time works and make money from it. Therefore, I did my research for good nails school in Singapore and came across Pink Room International Nails Academy aka PRINA. During these few months of learning, I equipped myself with a professional knowledge on nails and I have also did a few customers nails. When they complimented my work are nicely done, it gave me extremely satisfaction. I am going to finish the course in one more month. So hopefully for 2013, I will have more and more customers who love my art work. God bless ! This is also a reason why I started out this blog too. =)

This is my 2012. How did you spend yours? I hoped you have done something that you always wanted to do. Because life is short. And remember how matter how busy you are, always give some time to your family and loves one. Till then, let's embraces 2013 with a biggest warmest heart together.

Loves,
Cyn
