Past Works Designs

Hi Strangers,

Just a quick update on some of the few designs I've worked on the customers. I hoped my existing and new customers will be more adventurous next time and allow me to create fanciful nailsart to their fingernails. =)

And, below are some nail designs that I have done on my own nails for the past couple of months.
All designs are used with angelprogelly polishes on my natural nails. It can lasts for 3weeks or even more. However, I usually removed them during the 2nd week because I loved to change new designs. As for the 3D emboss art, I used charisma powders from USA. Speaking on which, a lot of my friends and customers usually asked me the same question, " Do you painted both hand nails by yourself?" And I replied, " Yes, by myself." With proper training from reputable nail academy (PRINA), it helps to master my skills better and of course practice, practice and practice.

Creating arts on a small surface area requires a lot of focus and patience too. So if you are not a patience person but yet want to have some nails design, try opting for water decal stickers. They are so thin and flush smoothly with the polishes. Making it look so real as if its painted on. I usually used Japanese water decal stickers or Sha Nail.

I shall end this post here now. If you have any nails design that you like me to create, feel free to call or sms me to make an appointment.

Later, Strangers.

Cyn.

Soft Gel Soak Off Step by Step

Hello Strangers,

London weather is sunny this week. I am so happy to roam around without being wrapped up like a penguin. =D Let hope the weather will continue to be sunny everyday.

Today, I am going to explain how to soak off your soft gel polish step by step properly with care.
I ever have customers telling me, they are so afraid of doing soft gels again because once the manicurist removed the soft gels, their nails become very thin and weak.

Actually, this isn't true. The reason why their nails become thin or weak is largely due to the ignorance knowledge of the manicurist who did not remove the soft gels with proper care.

Below is a collage that I have done to explain more clearly.

Step 1: Your nails grew longer. It became ugly or annoying because you start seeing the lunula. (You can choose to cut your nail length to your preference at this stage.)
Step 2: Applied cotton that is soaked thoroughly with pure acetone onto the nail plate and then used foil aluminium to wrap them tightly around each nail. (***No gaps are allowed, otherwise the acetone will evaporates quickly.)
Step 3: After 10-15mins, removed the foil aluminium and you will see that the soft gels have melted into the cotton. (If there are some residues left on the nail plate, simply used cotton soaked with acetone and rubbed them away.)
Step 4: Use a 180grit nail file to trim the length. I personally loved to use angel pro nail file.
Step 5: Use the nail file in one direction. Always left to right. Never two directions as it can chip the nail easily.
Step 6: Use a cuticle pusher to dry push and removed the eponychium (known as cuticle). However, a lot of manicurists or yourself actually removed the fake cuticle by trimming it away with the nipper. This is wrong and dangerous. Because that layer is not cuticle. It is known as nail fold and it protects our nail matrix from bacteria infection. If it is not well taken care, it can affect the way our nails grow.
Step 7: Once you have dry push all fingers for one hand, use a lint free with acetone and wipe the nail plate. This is to remove any dust or oil residue left.
Step 8&9: Apply the dehydrator generously to each nail. This is to further enhance the bonding of gel polish for your next application. (**This step is optional.)

You will see that your nails are so well manicured after these steps.

See how pretty and clean it looked. Absolutely no filter or photoshop on pictures.

Here is a diagram to explain the different parts on a nail. (Image taken from internet source.)

I hoped this post has helped you ladies gained a better understanding about nail and steps to remove soft gels.

Next post, I will write how to apply gelly polish step by step.

Tweed Design.

Hello Beautiful Strangers,

I hoped you still remember me. It been quite a while since my last post and I apologised for the lack of updates. This is due to us relocating to London. Many stuffs to handle at one time.

Just a little update about my life in London.
I am not a winter person. Hence, I was really reluctant to move when I heard my Husband saying that we are moving. Many negative sprung up in my braincells, whether I can survive the weather, the food, the cultures etc. Nevertheless, I cleared the bad thoughts, plucked my courage and asked God to bless us in London. So we flew there in Chinese New Year Eve.

Fast forward to conclusion: I am still not a winter person. But whenever there is SUN shining brightly like a diamond, I totally loved it and enjoyed myself very much. Although I am fully aware that London is famous for it wet & gloomy weather, I sincerely prayed and hoped that I will enjoy London as much as I can.

Okay, back to my nail's dairy.

I am now in Singapore for 3weeks to attend my good friend wedding. As the weather is cold in London, my nails chipped off easily despite of how much petroleum I applied. Well of course, I mean the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly! Haha..

Therefore, I decided to give my nails a TLC treat.

Tweed Design, inspired from Nailmax with slight modification.
Using #angelprojelly polishes (20), (24) & (143) with (47) as base and (29) as dots on the half moon.

I loved how the colours complimented one another. Plus it matches my two outfits for the upcoming wedding too!

What do you guys think?

Ok Laters, Strangers.

Luv,
Cyn.

Flying colours!

Hello Beautiful Strangers,

I want to share a joyous news with you guys!
I went to my nail school to collect my results for the exams I took earlier on this year.

Theory & Practical Exams included:
1) Professional Manicurist Certificate- Distinction.
2) Professional Certificate in Gel Extension Techniques- Passed.
3) Professional Certificate in Acrylic Extension Techniques- Passed.

I Passed all 3! I am so ecstatic when I saw my result.

Anyone who is a professional manicurist in this industry, will know that PINK ROOM INTERNATIONAL NAIL ACADEMY aka PRINA is super stringent in teaching and EXAMS!

Now I just have to pass the final exam which is the Diploma in Professional Nail Technology. I heard it is tough. Oh well, bless that I can come back to this yearly affair and reunite with my nailist friends again!

Nevertheless, I want to thank my wonderful PRINA teachers, Rachel, Joe & Nicole for teaching and pushing ourselves to have this professional standard not like anyone else. Of course, practice makes perfect!

Ok Laters, Strangers.

Loves,
Cyn.
